Applying the open-source computer algebra program to economic analysis

This site relates to the application of the Maxima open-source computer algebra system to economic analysis. The largest single set of material relates to Microeconomic Theory and Computation: Applying the Maxima Open-Source Computer Algebra System (available from Springer and from online sellers like Amazon), by Mike Hammock and Wilson Mixon, who maintain the site.

The site provides links to documentation for Maxima and the wxMaxima interface. This documentation includes a number of tutorials, including tutorials focused on aspects of wxMaxima that apply to economic analysis.

In addition the site contains examples, exercises, and workbooks that pertain to the use of wxMaxima in economics. Most of these relate to the material in Microeconomic Theory and Computation, but there is also material related to other aspects of economic analysis.
